WHAT IS IT?

the classroom school in community program (PAEC) is an educational model at the Tecnological Industrial and Services High shool (Cbtis 107) in Tuxtepec Oaxaca México. this program aims to strengthen school-community partner ships.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The PAEC project involves collecting electronic products that students no longer use. After that, a company from Oaxaca comes to take all the electronic waste to give it another use.

OBJECTIVE:

1. Facilitate collaborative efforts between the school and the community
2. Invites students and the public to be environmentally conscious by collecting electronic products.

WHEN DID IT TAKE PLACE?

This project was inaugurated last year in 2024 by third-semester morning and afternoon students of the logistics specialty, with the support of their professors.

This type of trash was collected on November 21st and 22nd, not only from students but also from residents of the municipality. On the 21st, it was the students' turn to bring these devices, and on the 22nd, it was the general public's turn. They also sought sponsorship to establish collection points at some private schools. Then, they collected the devices at CBTIS 107. They received cell phones, speakers, USB cables, blenders, and irons, which are small items. A collection company picked them up on November 23rd. In return, the company provided some kind of in-kind support, such as projectors or computers.

WHEN WILL IT TAKE PLACE?

This year, CBTIS 107 will once again carry out the PAEC Project on the following dates:

•  MAY 20 2025: presentation of the PAEC to the city in parque juarez.
• June 25 2025: from 9.:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. students will deliver their materiales to the indoor playground.
• June 26 2025: the recycling company will visit the various collection centers to collect the materiales [participating elementary and secondary schools].
• June 27 2025: Delivery of materials to the community at the school.
